A CALL TO ARMS
The origin of this collection dates back to 2014 when Creative Director, Julian Woodhouse initially envisioned a clothing brand for the world. Upon the founding of WOOD HOUSE in 2015 Julian began manifesting his vision of this large undertaking by building a collection that explores the sartorial extent to which menswear could embody, titled Warrior. Instead of designing clothing for an existing demographic of creatives, Julian imagined WOOD HOUSE, later named WOOD HOUSE Army to be a house that is open to creatives looking for clothing that not only upheld aesthetic preferences but also matched a vision for a world united under the simple commonality of being Human.
The nuCLEAR Collection, like any WOOD HOUSE Army collection features a bold array of textures and textiles. The collection is divided into three color stories, Navy Blue, Camel, and Ox Blood. Each color story is marked by a vibrant camouflage printed Japanese twill that allows for a structured fit and is punctuated with elasticated detailing for comfort. The accessories include the WOOD HOUSE Army Commander and Captain’s Caps that made their debut during the Spring-Summer 2018 Collection, Field Day.
In contemporary society, one can see how truly diverse our backgrounds are. Regardless of race, gender-identity, sexual orientation or preference, we are all equal. However, without a wave of clarity in how we think about each other, uniting together and progressing as a collective is impossible.
We are united under a clearer mindset than those that have come before us. This awareness enables us to create a brighter future for our civilization.
With the aid of social media, our world has become smaller and information has become more accessible than ever. In a global marketplace where trend outweighs social and environmental contribution, nuCLEAR stands as a collection for a new generation.
As a world of creatives, we have a vested interest in tearing down walls that separate us and we have the desire to build new avenues for which we can all communicate without the fear of being negatively judged and without insecurity.
For a world separated merely on the grounds of our own invention can succeed no further than our individual imaginations. Collectively, we are stronger, and more apt to take on the future as our civilization continues to evolve and progress beyond the challenges of our time.
